Soho Streets for People

Soho Streets for People is a group of Soho residents, workers and business owners who want healthy, people-friendly streets in Soho.

We welcome Westminster City Council’s decision to invest £2 million into its ‘Vision for Soho’. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform Soho for the twenty-first century, benefitting residents as well as businesses and employees, and creating low-carbon, ‘climate-safe’ streets.

We urge the council to make the most of this investment and be as ambitious as possible, while taking into account the needs of Soho’s diverse stakeholders. We also urge the community in Soho to get involved and support a plan that is transformational. Maintaining the status quo of traffic-dominated streets is not an option that benefits anyone.

Westminster City Council is very clear that without strong support for a Soho scheme, especially from residents, it won’t go ahead. That would be a huge missed opportunity.
